Amb Pisan with Rep. Johnson

On February 28, 2017 Ambassador Pisan Manawapat and Congressman Hank Johnson (Democrat – Georgia) discussed the growing Thai investment and job creation in Georgia.

Ambassador Pisan informed Congressman Johnson about the investment of Thailand’s Indorama Venture in Covington, Georgia and its plan to expand bi-component manufacturing capacity by 2017. The expanded capacity will support the growing need for bi-component fibers in the hygiene and industrial sectors in the Americas.  Congressman Johnson welcomed the said investment.

Ambassador Pisan also spoke about the active Thai community in Georgia.

As Buddhists, both sides exchanged views about the growing interest in meditation and mindfulness practice in the U.S.
