Thai – American National Internship Program in Washington, D.C.

Good news! We finally got the participants for our first annual Thai – American National Internship Program.
This program, sponsored by the Royal Thai Embassy in consultation with the U.S.– Asia Institute, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Thai – American students to have a first-hand experience with the American government and political system in Washington, D.C. and to reflect on the role they, as our future leaders, can play in strengthening the Thai – U.S. relations.
The students come from various states in the U.S., including Illinois, Georgia, New Jersey, New York and Washington. Some of them will also receive the Thai – American Youth Political Leadership Award from the Embassy, which will help cover part of their expenses for the program.
During their stay in Washington, D.C., they will be joining other young Thai American students in meeting with American policy makers and participating in a three-week internship from 30 May – 5 July 2015. This internship will include a placement at various offices of the Royal Thai Embassy.
We hope that the exposure and experiences these students will gain this summer will help them become successful leaders and contribute to our Thai community in the U.S. in the future.
