Ambassador Glyn T. Davies is sworn in as the new U.S. Ambassador to Thailand
On September 14th 2015, Ambassador Pisan and his wife, Wanchana Manawapat, joined in a swearing-in ceremony for Ambassador Glyn T. Davies as the new U.S. Ambassador to Thailand at the U.S. Department of State. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken presided over the ceremony which was well attended by over 100 people, including family members and friends of Ambassador Davies.
Born into a diplomatic family, Ambassador Davies is well known for his strong sense of service, dedication, professionalism and friendliness.
Ambassador Pisan congratulated Ambassador Davies for his new assignment and reassured him of his full support and cooperation to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and mutually beneficial partnership between Thailand and the U.S. at all levels in the years to come.
In their remarks, Deputy Secretary Blinken and Ambassador Davies emphasized the importance of the long-standing alliance between Thailand and the U.S. and that the two countries share a wide range of common strategic interests.
