Washington celebrates HM the King’s 88th Birthday

On 3 December 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy held a reception to celebrate the auspicious 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. The Honorable Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Honorable Daniel Russel, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, were present as guests of honor and delivered their respective remarks extending best wishes to His Majesty the King.
Over 200 guests including high-level representatives from the U.S. government agencies, the U.S. Congress, and the private sector, members of the diplomatic corps, leading press, think-tanks and media, as well as “Friends of Thailand”, attended the event. The U.S. national anthem was sung by Ms. Pakkavadee Phienlumlert and the Royal anthem of Thailand by Ms. Satiya Silakes. Guests enjoyed sensational and spicy delights, a real taste of Thailand.
