Thailand hosted ASEAN Exercise 16-3 to underscores its region-wide contribution to strengthening defense and security partnerships

Thailand hosted ASEAN Exercise 16-3  or AEx 16-3 between 1 – 11 September 2016 in Chonburi Province to underscore its contribution to strengthening defense and security partnerships in the Asia Pacific region. The exercise is part of the collaboration under the ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting Plus framework. Over 2,000 personnel from 18 countries across the Asia Pacific region took part in this exercise which focused on enhancing coordination and operation in the areas of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR). Personnel from the U.S. Pacific Command, Army, Marines and Air Forces also took part in this multinational exercise along with their regional counterparts.
