Ambassador and Spouse visit Thai-owned orchid company in Hawaii – an example of successful Thai SME in the U.S.
On 12 December 2016, Ambassador Pisan Manawapat and Mrs. Wanchana Manawapat visited the Orchid Lei Company in Honolulu, which serves as a model for successful Thai SME in the United States. Run by a Thai owner, Sukit Kanaprach, the company has grown into a major importer and distributor of high quality orchids from Thailand.
For more than 15 years, Sukit has imported high quality orchids from Nakhon Pathom Province of Thailand and sell orchid products to many 5-star hotels in Hawaii. These orchid products have also been distributed to several states and cities across the United States, including the Los Angeles area. The company has also participated in many trade shows on a regular basis.
Ambassador Pisan praised the Orchid Lei Company for its commitment to maintaining high quality for its products, which meet the high standard and rigorous quality control of the State of Hawaii. He also stressed the strong support of the Thai Government to ensure successful Thai businesses in the United States.
During this visit, Ambassador Pisan and spouse were accompanied by Mrs. Cholatip Kambhu Sangrat, spouse of the Consul-General in Los Angeles, and Mr. Panupat Chavananikul, First Secretary of the Thai Embassy in Washington D.C.
