ExxonMobil appoints new Lead Country Manager to Thailand


On 9 March 2017, Mr. Jeremy Osterstock, the new Lead Country Manager to Thailand of ExxonMobil accompanied by the company’s senior advisor, Ambassador Elizabeth Jones (Ret.), called on Ambassador Pisan Manawapat at the latter’s residence. Mr. Osterstock was due to depart to Bangkok for new assignment later this month.

9-Mar-2017-ExxonMobilThe Thai Ambassador encouraged ExxonMobil to take advantage of Thailand’s strategic position in Southeast Asia in order to map out Exxon’s strategy and work plan to cover all of Thailand’s immediate neighbors to bridge development gaps. It should boost its corporate social responsibility (CSR) role in Thailand as the country is focusing on STEM education, young entrepreneurship, SMEs and innovation. Mr. Osterstock responded that promoting education is in line with the core interests of the company and its Business Support Center, the company’s largest center based in Thailand, is focusing more efforts in training  on IT, finance and business.
During the meeting, Ambassador Pisan also expressed his hope that  under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Rex Tillerson, the US will find Thailand a willing partner to deepen bilateral security and economic interests to the fullest extent possible.
