Amb Pisan encouraged Sikorsky to join EEC

On September 18, 2017, Ambassador Pisan Manawapat met with President of Sikorsky, Mr. Dan Schultz, and the key executives at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut. Joining the visit to Sikorsky were Consul-General Nipon Petchpornprapas from New York and the team of armed force, naval, air attaches from Washington, D.C.
Ambassador Pisan encouraged Sikorsky President to send a team to Thailand to look into the opportunity the country has to offer in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The country is on its course to become the aviation hub that will serve the entire ASEAN region and beyond. Sikorsky’s long-term presence in Thailand will match the forward-looking vision that has continued to drive the company forward.
Thailand is a long-time customer of Sikorsky’s commercial and military helicopters dated back as early as 1970s. Sikorsky currently joins force with Thai Aviation Service (TAS) in providing helicopter rental as well as customer support service for businesses in Thailand. Every current model produced by Sikorsky Aircraft is in operation in the country.
