Princess Srinagarindra Award Laureate 2017
On 29 November 2017, the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation under the Royal Patronage held a joint press conference at the Department of Public Relations, Bangkok to announce the Princess Srinagarindra Award Laureate 2017 to Professor Emeritus Dr. Euisook Kim, Professor Emeritus at College of Nursing, Yonsei University, Seoul, and Chairman for the Global Korean Nursing Foundation, from the Republic of Korea
Dr. Euisook Kim is a distinguished pioneer in nursing education and research in Korea, and an exceptional leader in health policy and has been a health policy adviser to the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, vice-director of the National Hypertension Center, and a committee member of the National Health Insurance Corporation. She has been recognized internationally as a board member of International Council of Nurses (ICN) and one of founding members of WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing Development for the development of world health care policy related to the primary health care. During last decade, she greatly contributed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in over 20 countries through development and operation of health workforce, strengthening programs and community-based maternal and child health programs.
The Award Ceremony 2017 was held on 11 December 2017 at the Royal Palace in Bangkok and was presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Siridhorn along with the 2016 laureate, Winjuan Wu from China.
