Thailand and the United States put science cooperation on track for another five years
On July 5, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Soranit Siltharm, Permanent Secretary of Science and Technology and Dr. Jonathan Margolis, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Science, Space and Health signed to renew the Scientific and Technical Agreement (STA) for another 5 years at US Department of State in Washington. Prior to the signing, Scientists and experts from US and Thai specialized agencies, namely Department of State, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Energy, USGS, NOAA, NIH, Smithsonian Institution as well as Thailand’s Ministry of Science and Technology and its subordinate agencies exchanged view to reshape key issues of mutual benefits on natural resources management, museum outreach models, biodiversity and health. Thailand hosted first Joint Committee Meeting and both countries signed the first STA in Bangkok in 2013.
