Thai-US cooperation on educational and cultural affairs

On November 14, 2018, Thai Ambassador to the United States, Virachai Plasai, hosted a lunch for Assistant Secretary of State for educational and cultural affairs, Marie Royce, at the Thai Residence. Both sides exchanged views on deepening and broadening the Thai-US cooperation on education, capacity building and training as well as fostering people-to-people links while celebrating their 200 years of lasting friendship in 2018.   Enhancement of the ASEAN-US dialogue partnership during Thailand’s Chairmanship of ASEAN next year was also highlighted. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Walter Douglas, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Policy, Aleisha  Woodward, and Mark  Carr from the Office of Policy and Evaluation, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, as well as diplomatic officers from the Royal Thai Embassy also joined the event.
