Thailand Film Office is offering student filmmakers to Thailand Short Film Competition 2019 to find next generation of filmmakers who will bring Thailand to the screen. We expect over hundred filmmakers from across the globe to have this opportunity to fly to Thailand and make a short film. Also, the winning films will receive prizes totaling 430,000 Thai Baht (approx USD 13,400.)

The competition is now in its sixth year and over 200 aspiring filmmakers have joined the competition. Films such as ‘Hangover II’, ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, ‘Only God Forgives’, ‘The Railway Man’ and many others have filmed in Thailand.

We are looking for filmmakers in a team of two persons, so you must have a partner who you trust absolutely. Over the next six days, they will spread across Thailand in 20 teams and each make a short film. They must find the subject; actors or interviewees, take on all the technical roles, and edit the film to a deadline on March 30, 2019.

The team’s mission is to make a short film exploring “Living Eco, Living Thainess”. With increasing number of world travelers engaging in activities and journeys in a way that respects, conserves, and interacts with local cultures and environments, we are looking for a fresh approach, using imagination, dramatic technique, and creative vision.
