First 2019 meeting of ASEAN Committee in Washington held under Thailand’s Chairmanship

The Royal Thai Embassy hosted the first ASEAN Committee in Washington (ACW) Ambassadors’ Meeting for 2019 at the Thai Residence on January 25, 2019.

The Thai Chair briefed the meeting on the theme and priorities of Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship: “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability”. The meeting exchanged views on ways to further enhance ASEAN-US strategic partnership for the year ahead.

Following the meeting, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted ASEAN Ambassadorial Luncheon with Mr. Charles Freeman, Senior Vice President for Asia, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, during which participants discussed key economic issues relating to the U.S. and Asia, in particular ways to deepen economic relationship between the U.S. and ASEAN.
