Thai Fellows of Spring 2019 YSEALI Academic Fellowships Visit the Embassy

Young Thai professionals, fellows of the U.S. Department of State’s Spring 2019 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Fellowships (YSEALI), visited the Royal Thai Embassy on 28 May 2019. They shared with the Embassy’s officials and among themselves their experience learnt from the program and had discussion on best practices that could apply to their lines of work in Thailand.

The YSEALI recipients, from 11 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, spent 6 weeks during 20 April – 31 May 2019 to learn and observe from organizations that they were placed based on their work interests on the issues of governance and society, economic empowerment, civic engagement and environment sustainability.

The young Thai professionals with diverse professional backgrounds are Mr. Adulsman Sukkaew (Yala Rajabhat University), Ms. Pawida Bualert (Shma Co. Ltd), Ms. Watcharin Jaiwongkaew (Siam Organic Co., Ltd.), Mrs. Onwanya Rungruang (Bridgestone Asia Pacific Technical Center Co. Ltd.), Ms. Wiriya Kingwatcharapong (Greenpeace Southeast Asia), Dr. Yasmin Sattar (Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus), Ms. Sirikun Loetsakwiman (Ricult Inc.), Mr. Thanakrit Thongfa (EarthRights International) and Mr. Yoottana Booranrom (Bangkok Metropolitan Administration).
