“A Taste of ASEAN Cuisine” cookbook launch for a good cause

In a diplomatic circle, we often say that Ambassadors’ residences have the best foods in town. Can you imagine having access to some of their secrets? You could become the next Masterchef in your own home!
On 22 November 2019, the ASEAN Women’s Circle in Washington D.C. (AWC-DC) hosted “A Taste of ASEAN Cuisine” cookbook launch reception at the Royal Thai Embassy offering a unique opportunity for attendants to taste samples of those recipes from the book. The book is published with a purpose of introducing ASEAN’s culinary culture to readers in the U.S. Each recipe would represent a piece of history and culture of our ten member countries. Beyond the appetizing perspective, all profits from the book sales will be donated to the “Doctors Without Borders,” an international, independent medical humanitarian organization that provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare organization (https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/).
Special appreciation to the Embassy of Indonesia to the U.S. and the Indonesian Ladies Association, who initiated the cookbook project. Their team has worked diligently and tirelessly in coordinating and putting together this book. The book contains recipes of 30 famous ASEAN dishes, 3 from each of the ten ASEAN countries.
