Temporary Adjustment of Consular Services Procedures during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) Pandemic
Given the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease), the United States Government declared a Public Health Emergency on 31 January 2020 and a National Emergency on 13 March 2020. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued various guidelines and recommendations on gatherings and social distancing in an effort to contain and mitigate the pandemic.
In compliance with the abovementioned guidelines and recommendations to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Royal Thai Embassy will temporarily adjust consular service procedures as follows:
1. Consular service hours
Monday-Friday 9.00-12.00 (except holidays) by appointment only |
2. Operating procedures
2.1 Online appointment: Appointments regarding applications for Thai passports and national identification cards will be reserved for emergency cases only. Appointments can be made online through the Embassy’s website at www.thaiembdc.org/th/passportbooking and www.thaiembdc.org/th/idcardbooking 2.2 By mail only: Visa applications, registration services and legalization services will be restricted to mail services only. All applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance as the temporary change of service procedures may affect processing times. It is also recommended that those with no emergency requirements consider postponing their applications until the situation improves.
This temporary adjustment of consular services procedures will come into effect on
Friday 20 March 2020 until further notice.
