Thais celebrate HM King’s Birthday Anniversary by helping local communities
To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 68th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on 28 July 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., organized the following volunteer activities inspired by the Royal Initiative Volunteer Projects to give thanks and support to frontline workers and help those in need in Washington, D.C. as follows:
On 23 July 2020, Ambassador Thani Thongphakdi and the other members of Team Thailand (Offices of Army, Navy, Air Force, Commerce, Finance, Agriculture, Education, Science and Innovation) provided “healthy lunch & snack sets” to frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic at George Washington Hospital and Medstar Washington Hospital Center (Cancer Institute).
On the same day, care packages were also donated to Georgetown Ministry Homeless Service (at Grace Episcopal Church) to help people in need in the neighborhood of the Embassy.
