Visa procedures for work permit holders (Volunteers or NGO workers)
*Please note that the family of NGO workers can no longer apply for a Non-Immigrant visa type O. They may instead apply for a Tourist visa or other types of visas they are qualified for.*
1. If the applicant does not have a valid visa or re-entry permit, the applicant must request a visa, at least 15 working days before the intended date of travel, by filling in the information and upload all required documents online at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ (Please note that the visa application fee is non-refundable)

2. Required documents to upload in the system (Large and clear JPEG or PDF format):
2.1 Passport Biodata Page (Must be valid within 6 months from travel date).
2.2 Photograph of the applicant 2×2, taken within the past six months.
2.3 Proof of flight confirmation/reservation, indicating the trip from US to Thailand. Itinerary must include applicant’s name, travel dates, airports, and flight number.
2.4 Proof of accommodation in Thailand.
2.5 Copy of current saving or checking bank statement with an ending balance of no less than $700 per person or $1,500 per family. The date and name of the applicant must be indicated clearly. In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship must be provided (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate).
2.6 Invitation letter or support letter from the NGO, Charity, or organization where the applicant will be working. The letter should include the name of applicant, Passport number, job description, paid or unpaid position, period of stay in Thailand, and signed by authorized person together with a copy of valid Thai ID card or Passport of the signer. In the case of a Non-Thai national who signed the letter, a valid work permit must be provided.
2.7 Registration of NGO/Charity/Association.
2.8 Approval letter from concerned official authority (i.e. Employment Department or Ministry of Labor)
2.9 Passport pages containing all travel records for the past 12 months.

***If applying for Multiple-Entry, a work permit issued by The Ministry of Labour in Thailand must be provided.
