Ambassador Manasvi met with Thailand’s Honorary Consul-General in Houston, Texas

On 18 February 2021, Ambassador Manasvi Srisodapol had a virtual meeting with Mr. Charles C. Foster, Honorary Consul-General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Houston, Texas, to discuss cooperation in advancing relations between Thailand and the State of Texas, particularly in assisting the Thai community in the area, fostering close and fruitful relations with local government and businesses in order to promote Thailand’s economic, investment, culture, and tourism.

Ambassador Manasvi expressed his appreciation for Honorary Consul-General Foster’s hard work and dedication to the Thai community and close cooperation with the Embassy throughout 24 years of tenure. He also expressed his concern regarding the emergency situation in Texas caused by the winter storm on 15 February 2021 and extended the Embassy’s full support for the Honorary Consulate to assist Thais in the affected areas in need of assistance. Ambassador Manasvialso suggested virtual discussions with the business community of Houston and Texas, to update on Thailand’s economic outlook and the importance of the U.S. business’s constructive role in supporting the Thai Government’s economic development plan.

During the meeting, the Embassy team also informed the Honorary Consul-General about the Thai E-visa program in the United States, launched on 18 February 2021.

Honorary Consul-General Foster also expressed his wishes to assist the Embassy in promoting cooperation in economic, investment, tourism between Thailand and Texas.
