Thailand earning smiles from dental tourists

The people of Thailand have earned a global reputation for their warm and welcoming smiles. Now, Thailand’s tooth care professionals are winning smiles from American and international “dental tourists” for the quality of their services, cosmetic surgeries and affordable prices, according to a Seattle news website.
“Thailand has become one of the world’s premier dental tourism destinations, and with excellent cosmetic dentists in Bangkok, you are guaranteed the best quality dental treatments,” wrote Dr. Jim Taylor on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer website.
“Many Americans love to take advantage of Thailand’s superb cosmetic dental opportunities and turn the journey into a dental tourism trip at the same time,” Taylor wrote in an article entitled ‘The Rise of Thailand as a Dental Tourism Destination for Americans.’
Americans represent a considerable market for dental procedures and cosmetic dental surgeries in particular. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, nearly 20 million Americans had some form of dental cosmetic procedures in 2018.
Although prices for dental procedures in Thailand are well below the levels found in the U.S., the quality of service is high. The article points out that all Thai dentists are well trained, with many having attended dental schools in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
“Thai dental experts belong to dental societies such as the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Thailand’s healthcare infrastructure is also one of Asia’s best. Thailand was the first country In Asia to achieve the internationally recognized JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation. Some of the country’s most popular dental clinics have received this JCI recognition,” Taylor wrote.
“Thailand has become a top destination for dental tourism where patient care and safety are a top priority. The country offers dental tourists plenty to see and do, from its beautiful beaches to its amazing flora and fauna to its fascinating architecture, many festivals and events and much more,” he added.
