Ambassador Manasvi met with U.S. private sector to strengthen Thai-U.S. trade and investment relations
On March 31, 2021 Ambassador Manasvi Srisodapol, along with Team Thailand, had a virtual roundtable discussion with 56 member companies of the U.S. – ASEAN Business Council (USABC). Mr. Alexander Feldman, Chairman, President & CEO of USABC moderated the discussion.
Ambassador Manasvi emphasized the importance of the role of U.S. businesses in supporting the Thai Government’s economic development plan, especially through the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG Economic Model). He also asked the member companies to (1) support the U.S. government to continue granting GSP preferences to Thailand (2) maintain Thailand’s presence in the U.S.’s supply chain and (3) expand investment in Thailand, especially in advanced technology industries and in the EEC.
The roundtable discussion was attended by representatives of leading U.S. companies from key sectors including energy, finance, healthcare, logistics, defense, tourism, automotive, information & communication, food & beverage, and IT.
