Ambassador Manasvi hosted a luncheon in honor of former Senator Cory Gardner
On June 14, Ambassador Manasvi hosted a luncheon in honor of former Senator Cory Gardner at the Thai Residence, where they exchanged views on ways to enhance interaction and relationship between Thailand and the U.S., via exchange of visits and dialogues, as well as Thailand’s readiness to support the U.S. global supply chain. The luncheon was also accompanied by Senior Colonel Pattana Punmongkol, Defense and Military Attache, and Mr. Noppadon Kuntamas, Minister (Commerce Affairs), and Mr. Curtis Swager, former Chief of Staff of Sen. -Gardner.
Sen. Gardner is a close Friend of Thailand. In 2017, he was among eight senators sponsoring “S.Res.9: A concurrent resolution honoring in praise and remembrance the extraordinary life, steady leadership, and remarkable, 70-year reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand”. During Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha’s visit to the United States in October 2017, Sen. Gardner, along with the then President Pro Tempore Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), presented a copy of the resolution to the Prime Minister during his visit to the U.S. Capitol. He also paid a visit to Thailand in 2018 to reaffirm congressional support in strengthening Thailand – U.S. bilateral relations and also had the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.
