During the Bangkok Design Week 2001 organized by thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC), the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C. supported TCDC in orchestrating an online talk “Tell Your Story” on world-class animation industry on 17 June 2021 at 23.00 hrs. (EST) (18 June 2021 at 10.00 – 11.30 hrs. in Thailand).

The Embassy invited Arut Tantasirin, a world-famous Thai animator, to tell stories on how to develop animation characters, form an interesting storyline, and present work to international animation studios. Arut brought along his two famous animator friends, co-executive and director Kyle Neswald (The Powerpuff Girls, Stars vs. The Forces of Evil) and co-executive producer and color supervisor Kristin Donner (The Fungies!, T.U.F.F. Puppy), to join and share their experiences. The talk was conducted in English through Zoom online system. More than 1,200 people watched the replay by now.

During the talk, Arut, the creator of Warbie Yama and the animation director in world-class animation production, talked about ways and means that are beneficial to Thai animators along with moderating for Kyle and Kristin to share their thoughts on how to professionally develop animation characters, as well as possible opportunities for Thai animators to show their capability by reaching and pitching their works in world-class studios.

This online talk is aimed to be a platform in advising and creating opportunities to connect Thai creative industries to the international stage, with the point of view that an integration of Thailand’s social and cultural capacity with creative knowledge and modern technology would be a driving force for Thailand to develop the country’s human capital development as a strong foundation towards a more balanced and sustainable economy.
