Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., supports local frontliners and enliven children in hospital
Ambassador Manasvi led Team Thailand in the U.S. (Offices of Army, Navy, Air Force, Commerce, Finance, Agriculture, and Education) in joining volunteer activities inspired by the Royal Initiative Volunteer Projects to give 50 lunch bags to frontline workers and deliver 200 soft fabric-cover notebooks for children at Children’s National Hospital to give thanks to medical and public health workers and cheer up children at the hospital on 11 August 2021.
Each lunch bag comprises of sandwiches with 5 different fillings, Thai snacks, cookies and bottled water, while the soft notebooks have an elephant (Thailand) standing together with an eagle (the U.S.) illustration on the cover. This provision aspires to express well wishes to local frontline workers, brighten up the day for children at the hospital, as well as to illustrate Thai people’s generosity to Americans living and working in Washington, D.C. where the Embassy is situated. In addition, Thailand’s Royal Thai Volunteers “Doing Good Deeds for Country and People” program is aimed for social services, country’s image promotion, as well as relationship building between the Embassy and local organizations.
