Ambassador Manasvi met with U.S. Department of Commerce to strengthen Thai-U.S. Economic Relations

On September 10, 2021, Ambassador Manasvi Srisodapol virtually met with Ms. Diane Farrell, Acting Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade along with other representatives from U.S. Department of Commerce, including Mr. Richard Steffens, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, Mr. David Nufrio, Deputy Director, Office of ASEAN and Pacific Basin and Mr. Hong-Phong Pho from the Office of ASEAN and Pacific Basin.

Ambassador Manasvi expressed his gratitude to Ms. Farrell for accepting the invitation to join the Royal Thai Embassy’s 2nd Webinar: “Forging Thailand-US economic partnership as pathway toward post-COVID-19 Recovery” on 15 September 2021, as one of the speakers.      On this occasion, both sides also discussed other economics issues, including Thai-U.S. cooperation in the energy and healthcare sectors and climate change, Thailand’s role in hosting the APEC meeting in 2022, Thailand’s efforts in combating IUU fishing and Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program extension.
