Message from the Ambassador

With the closing of another year and the arrival of the new year 2022 (the year of the tiger), I wish to extend, on behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in Washington D.C., our warmest wishes to the government and people of the United States of America.

The past year has been a trying period for everyone around the world due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has taken a heavy toll on all of us. We are fortunate that the United States has led the way in the rapid development and systematic distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in the United States and to the rest of the world, thanks to the generosity and compassion of the government and people of the United States. Thailand is truly grateful for the COVID-19 vaccines and medical supplies rendered to us over the past years. We are also heartened that our bilateral ties and cooperation have been reinvigorated by the active engagements and high-level exchange of visits over the past twelve months.

As the new year arrives, we look forward to refueling our longstanding partnership to build back better our nations, our economies and the well-being of people by jointly addressing common challenges such as climate and environmental sustainability, health and energy, digital economy, economic recovery, peace and security, and resilience. In doing so, we hope to develop a shared vision for the future and stand ready to work with our American friends and partners, bilaterally and in multilateral and regional fora such as the UN, ASEAN, Mekong and, in particular, APEC during Thailand’s chairmanship of APEC 2022.

On a final note, we wish to express our deep appreciation to all the wonderful people at the federal, state, city and district levels for their assistance and services, as well as to all our American friends who have rendered kind support and assistance to the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai community in the United States. May the holiday season bring happiness and make way for a brighter and healthy new year.

Manasvi Srisodapol
Ambassador
