Ambassador Manasvi Chaired the Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Washington

On 9 June 2022, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., chaired the Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Washington (ACW) and hosted the welcoming luncheon for his colleagues from ASEAN Embassies in Washington. D.C. at the Thai Residence.

The ACW Meeting was preceded by the chairmanship handover from H.E. Mr. Ashok Kumar Mirpuri, Ambassador of Singapore to the United States, to Ambassador Manasvi where he expressed sincere appreciation and commended Ambassador Mirpuri for his leadership and accomplishment during Singapore’s ACW chairmanship.

Ambassador Manasvi reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with ACW colleagues and underscored the importance of ASEAN centrality, despite the challenges facing ASEAN, with an aim to continue to promote ASEAN’s interests and foster close partnership with the U.S. The Committee exchanged views on the recent ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit (AUSS) takeaways and discussed the Meeting’s outcome as well as the upcoming ACW activities. H.E. Mr. Keo Chhea, Ambassador of Cambodia to the U.S., also updated the Meeting on Cambodia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN.

Ambassador Manasvi will continue his role as chair of ACW until August 2022.
