Secretary General of the House of Representatives of Thailand and the delegation paid a study visit to Washington D.C.

During 20-25 September 2022, Mrs. Pornpith Phetchareon, Secretary General of the House of Representatives of Thailand and the delegation pay a visit to Washington D.C. to participate in the National Democratic Institute (NDI)’s study visit program. The study visit at several U.S. agencies, including the U.S. Congress, the State Department, and NDI, is an opportunity for the delegation to learn about important issues such as how to set the agenda for improved lawmaking and increased transparency, how to support the Secretariat’s staff to conduct budgetary analysis, and cooperation with different U.S. agencies to enhance the capacity of the legislative branch of Thailand as well as ways to promote U.S.-Thai relations.

The delegation also had the opportunity to meet with Senator Tammy Duckworth to discuss possible exchange of visits between the Congressional Delegations of Thailand and the U.S. in the future.
