Cardi B and American hip hop artists will perform at Thai festival

The superstars of hip hop, including Cardi B, Chris Brown, Travis Scott and other major artists will perform at the inaugural Rolling Loud Thailand in Pattaya in April, signaling the rising importance of the Thai market in the international music scene.

Many top-tier popular music and rock acts have played the Kingdom, including Michael Jackson, Santana, Guns N’ Roses, Sting and Billie Eilish. In recent years, more leading performers have been making a point of playing Thailand.

Also, Thai performers have begun making their mark abroad. Lalisa Manoban of K-Pop Group Black Pink won the MTV Music Video Award for Best K-Pop Video last year. And a young Thai rapper named Milli impressed audiences at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S. in 2022.

Organizers of Rolling Loud said that the 80-plus-acts will feature Cardi B, Chris Brown and Travis Scott as the headliners for each day of the three-day hip-hop music festival which features both international and local acts on two stages.

They expect the event to sell out despite the ticket prices, of which the range roughly between $400 and $450 for the full three days, is considered high for local audiences.

Other performers include American rapper Soulja Boy, South Korean singer-songwriter Bibi, UrboyTJ, F.Hero, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Offset and Jay Park.

The Rolling Loud festival was founded in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif and was initially a one-day event in Miami before moving on to international destinations such as Australia and Canada. Thailand and Germany are joining the festival this year.
