The merit-making ceremony for the 67th birthday of the abbot of Wat Yarnna Rangsee, Virginia

On 16 July 16, Ms. Pimpen Thanakhun, Minister Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., attended on behalf of the Ambassador, the merit-making ceremony for the 67th birthday of Phra Kru Sirithammawithet (Udom Sommana), the abbot of Wat Yarnna Rangsee. The ceremony was presided over by Phra Kru Prakob Phutthapak (Somphol Muangkampha), the Assistant Abbot of Wat Makutkasattriyaram with more than 70 Buddhists participated in the ceremony offering alms, Thai traditional necessities, and food to the 19 monks.

The attendees also jointly performed a religious ritual and presented floral offerings and water to Phra Kru Sirithammawithet. They also set up almshouse and distributed Thai food and beverages, including traditional Thai massage, which attracted a significant number of both Thai and foreign attendees.
